Lido di Jesolo.

During the Roman Empire, on the site of the Italian resort of Lido di Jesolo, there was a small village called Ecoillium. Near it, the ships stopping from Ravenna further north and back.

During the Middle Ages, Jezolo became a full member of the maritime alliance of nearby ports. This time was a period of economic prosperity for the city. In the future, with the increasing importance of Venice, it became part of the Venetian Republic.

What to see.

Ezolo or Jesolo itself, is located on the shores of the Venetian lagoon. But Lido di Jesolo stretched along the coast of the Adriatic Sea and in fact became a resort annex to the city, which gave it the name.

However, the minimum distance between the lagoon and the sea, in this place, does not exceed half a kilometer. Also in this place flows the river Sile.

But if you go from Lido di Jesolo to the north along the coast, you can find the third part of Jesolo - Cortelazzio. He is located in the immediate vicinity of the mouth, flowing here in the sea of the river Piave.

When moving southward through Lido di Jesolo, next to the mouth of the Sile River, you can find the Faro district. The name of the district is translated as a beacon.

And indeed, there is this object. Its height is 48 meters and it is located on a pier, at the very mouth of the Sila River, pushing out as much as possible into the sea.

Between Faro and Cortelazzio, two buses run, covering the entire coast of Lido di Jesolo. They leave from the bus station, which is in the center of the resort. Bus number 2 goes to Cortelazzo, and number 3 to Faro.

This bus station is even more interesting because it is connected by buses to the airport of Marco Pola (Venice International Airport) and to Venice itself. And if someone wants to get to the pearl of the northern Adriatic on the water, then from here the bus also goes to the port of Punta Saboni. And already there you can take a boat to Venice. Bus schedules can be purchased at the bus station for free.

Beaches in Lido di Jesolo reach 15 kilometers in length. Along them stretched 3 lines of hotels and the embankment. As a rule, even from the third line, a hike to the sea does not take more than 10 minutes. Beach vacation here is organized at a good level.

There are also many places for active recreation. The latter include: jet ski, water skiing, catamaran riding, windsurfing, scuba diving. Children here are also not deprived of the attention of the organizers of the holiday here. On the beach and next to it there are many playgrounds and attractions.

Once a year on the beach is a festival of sand figures. This is a very interesting event, which it is better not to miss. Recreational leisure at the resort is represented by both water parks and a large amusement park New Jesolandia.

And when you get tired of having fun and want to have a rest, I strongly advise you to visit the local Sea Life aquarium. It is located in the intersection of Via Aldo Policek and Viale del Marinaio.

You can also see here the remains of Roman fortifications, which were excavated in the north of Jesolo. The church of Santa Maria Assunta is also interesting. She is known for her Byzantine murals depicting the Black Madonna and the Child.

There is also a museum of natural history, which for many will be very interesting. And for those who are not a lover of natural science, a reptilian aquarium was built in Lido di Jesolo. Here is a large collection of living reptiles.
