Caorle.
One of the most famous resorts of Italy and the Venetian Riviera at the same time is Caorle. There are very beautiful nature and magnificent beaches. And the resort has a very complicated history, rooted in the era of ancient Rome.
How to get there.
Getting to Caorle is best on the bus, if there is no desire to spend money on a taxi. From Venice, there is a bus 4a, every four hours. There is of course an opportunity to try to use the railway communication, but there will be one transplant.
However, you can use a rented car, taking it on a preliminary booking immediately at the airport in Venice. This service is very popular in these places and pays for itself in the presence of an extensive cultural program. The latter can be connected both with the beautiful Venice, and with the sights around it.
What to see.
It is known from history that Caorle was founded under the Roman Empire. Its main task was to load and unload merchant ships coming to the harbor. About this page of Caorle's history is reminiscent of the remains of Roman ships resting on the seabed in the coastal zone.
Another story tells that one of the Roman ships was found and dug right on the beach. The most interesting thing is that the ship was completely loaded with ancient amphorae. Now most of the ancient artifacts found in these places are stored in the local National Archaeological Museum of the Sea. And the doors of the latter are always open for tourists during working hours.
Today, the oldest building of Caorle is St. Stephen's Cathedral, which was built in 1038. Cathedral height of 48 meters, is a Byzantine style and is therefore made in a cylindrical shape.
Still, very interesting as a tourist attraction is the Church of the Blessed Virgin (Madonna dell'Angelo). It was erected in its time on a small cape on the beach. In the 18th century it was restored. In the church there is a legendary fresco depicting fishermen finding the statue of the Madonna of the Seas. Celebrations are held regularly in Caorle.
In today's history of the city, in the first place came out other idols. First of all, these are magnificent, wide, sandy beaches. Secondly - it is an excellent infrastructure of Northern Italy. The third - proximity to Venice, with its unique cultural heritage.
Like most neighboring resorts, the beach strip in Caorle is framed by pine forests. In the city they are not as dense as in natural conditions. Nevertheless, the air here is filled with the aroma of pine needles.

Also it is necessary to visit the park of stone sculptures Scogliera Viva in Caorle. This exposition was the result of the festival of arts held here in July. And carved in granite fragments of sculptures, of different thematic focus, today have become an integral part of the resort.
